The 1st Round of Negotiations between MERCOSUR and Lebanon is taking place on 14-18 October with a view to making progress towards a free trade agreement.
Argentina and the other MERCOSUR countries hope to improve the terms of access to Lebanon, thereby strengthening their trading presence in the Middle East region.
Lebanon already has free trade agreements with the EU and the EFTA.
Argentina has confidence in the outcome of the negotiations and believes the agreement will strengthen the already important relationship with Lebanon.
