Following the launch event held the day before with officials and representatives of Argentine provinces, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino presided over today, at the San Martín Palace, the launch of the 2024 National Export and Investment Promotion Plan before business chambers and private entities of Argentina, thus introducing the trade promotion actions programmed by the Foreign Ministry to promote Argentina's exports and foreign investments in the country.
Minister Mondino was accompanied by the Secretary for International Economic Relations, Héctor Marcelo Cima, and by the Undersecretary of Promotion of Exports, Investments, Education, Science and Culture, Ramiro Velloso.
In attendance were representatives of more than 200 entities, business chambers and foreign trade and investment agencies that work together with the aforementioned Undersecretary to validate different actions and programs to boost Argentine companies’ exports to the world, as well as their internationalization and global positioning in prioritized markets. Among others, the following were present: the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC, Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios), the Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic (CERA, Cámara de Exportadores de la República Argentina), the Chamber of the Oil Industry of the Argentine Republic (CIARA, Cámara de la Industria Aceitera de la República Argentina), the Chamber of the Argentine Software Industry (CESSI, Cámara de la Industria Argentina del Software), the Argentine Rural Society (SRA, Sociedad Rural Argentina), the Industrial Organization of Argentina (UIA, Unión Industrial Argentina), the Cooperative Confederation of the Argentine Republic (COOPERAR, Confederación Cooperativa de la República Argentina) and the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO, Cámara Argentina de la Construcción).
In her remarks, Foreign Minister Mondino pointed out that “there are 8 billion people to whom we can sell our products, and we are here to work to open all the necessary doors so that our products reach them, but it is you, the private sector, that should tell us which doors we should open. You will have all my support and that of this Foreign Ministry to work on it."
She concluded: “It is our vision to improve the country's export insertion and to attract Foreign Direct Investment to create quality jobs, increase productivity and generate genuine foreign exchange (...) and it is our mission to facilitate commercial activity and clear it from barriers and delays.”
The meeting took place in hybrid mode and was broadcast live in virtual format through the Foreign Ministry’s social media channels.
The 2024 National Export and Investment Promotion Plan - which includes actions in support of the Country Brand strategy, jointly with other public entities - defines the organization and participation in exhibitions, fairs, contests, and commercial and economic missions through the network of Argentine Representations abroad and in coordination with the Argentine Trade and Investment Agency (AAICI), the Federal Investment Council (CFI) and all provincial Agencies.
According to the Plan, more than 2,400 promotion, dissemination, assistance and training actions will be developed with regard to the improvement, expansion and diversification of Argentine exports.
