Argentine and Mexican technical teams met yesterday, led by the Secretary for International Economic Relations, Jorge Neme, and the Mexican Undersecretary for Trade, Luz María de la Mora.

The meeting was in keeping with the instructions of the presidents of both countries, Alberto Fernández and Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during the former’s visit in March.

Discussions included the exchange of initial positions in connection with trade in agrifood, the automobile sector, health certificates, public procurements, investments, and electronic trade, among others.

Technical teams from both countries will hold discussions during the next few days which will focus on each of the matters pertaining to the bilateral trade relationship.

Both parties reiterated the priority they attach to this relationship and the need to take it to a new level of integration between both economies, in line with the current political convergence between Argentina and Mexico.
