Gustavo Zlauvinen, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic, received his Ecuadorian counterpart, Andrés Terán, for the 3rd Political Consultations Meeting.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Ministers and their respective delegations discussed different issues on the bilateral agenda, such as consular and migration affairs, cooperation between each country's Diplomatic Academies, technical cooperation, cooperation on human rights issues, health, and continental shelf issues, the fight against drug trafficking, transparency and the fight against corruption, cybersecurity, bilateral trade and its prospects, and the regional situation.
Within the framework of the meeting, notes for the coming into force of the Social Security Agreement between Argentina and Ecuador were exchanged, and a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Diplomatic Academies was signed.
Finally, the Deputy Foreign Ministers agreed to work jointly in relation to the commitments on the bilateral and regional agenda and the preparation of an official visit of President Lenín Moreno to Argentina.
