Argentina participated as guest of honor at ExpoAgriTech Málaga 2024, the most important international event in technological innovation for the agricultural sector, held at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA), Spain, from November 26 to 29 November.
The Argentine delegation was made up of 20 startups, 10 leading companies in AgTech solutions and representatives from the academic and governmental sectors.
Among the participating Argentine startups were Auravant, Bioheuris, Ñam Biotech and Pique Platform, which introduced their developments in agricultural digitalization, biotechnology and sustainability. Consolidated companies such as Agriconsult Latam and Keclon also attended and presented their strategies for international expansion and leadership in emerging markets.
In this edition, our country presented technological solutions for the sector and excelled in several categories of the Agritech Innovation Awards 2024.
The event's program of activities included presentations at the Startup Forum, where Argentine companies presented their innovations, performed technology demonstrations and participated in an international networking event - promoted by ICEX and European funds - that linked investment and cooperation opportunities for Argentine startups.
During the opening ceremony -which was attended by authorities from Spain and the Junta de Andalucía- Argentina received a special recognition as the guest country at the event.
Argentina's participation in ExpoAgritech Malaga 2024 articulated the work between the public and private sectors, with the aim of consolidating the country as a global leader in agri-food innovation. Argentina's participation also made it possible to boost the presence of our exportable supply of goods and services in other European markets and to open up new opportunities for the international expansion of our startups and technology companies.
Argentina is the main generator of agtechs and foodtechs in the region and that total Argentine exports to Spain in 2023 reached a figure of nearly 2 billion dollars.
