Argentine Foreign Minister Faurie New York Schedule

During the participation of President Mauricio Macri in the 73rd Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie engaged in several activities in New York, including a speech at the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit, which brought together Foreign Ministers to commemorate the South African leader in the 100th anniversary of his birth.

In the morning, Faurie attended the "Global Call to Action on the World Drug Problem" forum, hosted by President Donald Trump, and then chaired a High-Level Meeting on the fight against forced labour and human trafficking.

In addition, Faurie held a bilateral meeting with the European Commissioner for Trade (EU), Cecilia Malmström, and participated in the MERCOSUR-Singapore Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

The following day, the Argentine Foreign Minister joined President Macri in his address to the UN General Assembly. He also attended the Meeting of the Lima Group and a High-Level Meeting on the mass migration of Venezuelans. Finally, he signed a document, together with several countries, requesting the International Criminal Court to investigate the human rights situation in Venezuela.

In the afternoon, he participated in an event of the LGBTI Core Group, which is co-chaired by Argentina and the Netherlands.
