During the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly held in New York, Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie attended the "Global Call to Action on the World Drug Problem" meeting, organized, convened and chaired by the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
At the meeting, co-sponsored by Argentina, a statement was signed to underscore the international political determination to increase the efficacy of the efforts to address and counter the serious threat posed by the world drug problem.
The fight against drugs is one of the priorities of President Macri since taking office. In line with the statement, Argentina has a National Plan for the reduction of drug demand, supports a balanced approach to control drug demand and restrict drug supply and shares the vision of addressing this scourge with the essential help of international cooperation.
