The first humanitarian aid shipment for Venezuela was sent today. It consists of food donated by Lomas del Sol S.R.L., a company from San Juan.
The shipment was sent today from the company's plant to the Port of Buenos Aires. It will be shipped by sea to the Port of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, before entering Venezuelan territory.
Officials of the Foreign Ministry, White Helmets volunteers, Francisco Paladini, the president of Lomas de Sol S.R.L., and Elisa Trotta, the Representative of the President of Venezuela's National Assembly and the Interim President, were present to see the shipment off.
The donation, amounting to a total of 29 tonnes, consists of cooking oil, canned food, rice, lentils and raisins.
The Foreign Ministry will continue coordinating the management and shipment of donations and other humanitarian assistance.
Thus, Argentina renews its commitment to help deal with the serious humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.
