First poultry shipment sent to Canada by Motta Group's Calisa, an Entre Ríos-based company.
The first poultry meat export to Canada was made possible by the Canadian market opening, within the framework of the Argentine Government's strategy to increase the presence of Argentine products in international markets. The operation was conducted by Calisa, the poultry food processing plant of Grupo Motta, from Entre Ríos.
The possibility of exporting poultry food to Canada became a reality in 2017, after a series of negotiation rounds between Canadian trade and sanitary authorities and the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Production and Labour, the Secretary for Agro-Industry and SENASA.
Canada is one of the world's most highly developed markets, and it is at the forefront of food security and quality standards internationally. In addition, it is one of the world's 15 main poultry meat importers. Its suppliers include the United States, Brazil and Hungary.
