As part of her trip to Paris, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino met with her French counterpart Catherine Colonna and discussed the economic situation in Argentina. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Colonna ratified president Emmanuel Macron and France's support for Argentina in negotiations with the IMF. They also discussed environmental issues and the situation in Ukraine, among other matters. Colonna took the opportunity to reiterate the invitation for Argentina´s President, Javier Milei, to visit France soon.
Foreign Minister Mondino's busy Wednesday schedule had started at 8 a.m. with a meeting with the Minister of Transformation and Public Service of France, Stanislas Guerini, sent to Argentina by President Macron to attend President Milei´s inauguration ceremony.
During their meeting, Ministers Mondino and Guerini addressed the political and socioeconomic situation of both countries and discussed cooperation on transparency, digitalization and anticorruption. Minister Guerini offered the technical resources of the French Government and reiterated his government's support for Argentina and the current reform process. Guerini was formerly chairman of the presidential party and is a key official in Macron's action for reform.
The Foreign Minister then had a working meeting with Dominique Senequier, president of Ardian Group, France´s largest investment fund, during which they discussed Argentina´s economic situation and the range of opportunities for private sector investments.
After the meeting, in which Mondino also explained President Milei´s plans, Group investors expressed their interest in Argentina and in specific sectors, like infrastructure and energy. International media consider Ms Senequier the world´s 12th most influential woman.
In addition, the Argentine Foreign Minister met with Laurent Dassault, CEO and owner of Dassault and one of France´s most important business leaders. They exchanged views on investments of the Group in Argentina, mainly in the wine industry, and on the current situation in the country, with an emphasis on reforms planned by the government with a view to fostering a productive economic environment.
Another item on Mondino's agenda included a meeting with Stéphane Séjourné, president of Renaissance (formerly En Marche!), the presidential party, and head of the liberal bloc in the European Parliament. They compared the political contexts of France and Argentina, highlighted the reformist spirit shared by both presidents and discussed the vast opportunities to enhance bilateral relations.
Finally, the Argentine Foreign Minister also visited Station F, the largest start-up incubator in the world and the heart of the French technological ecosystem. As part of her visit, she went to the offices of Globant where she held a videoconference with Martin Migoya, CEO of the company. Within that context, Mondino highlighted the international leadership of Globant, whose strong presence and investment in France are a great example of Argentine talent and of the competitiveness that Argentina’s companies can achieve, and thanked Migoya for representing the country internationally in the best of ways.
