Foreign Minister Diana Mondino held a meeting today at the Foreign Ministry with the Ambassador of Ukraine, Yurii Klymenko.
Mondino was particularly grateful for the recent visit to the country by President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of the presidential handover ceremony. She also recalled the recent humanitarian assistance provided by Argentina to Ukraine.
For his part, the Ukrainian Ambassador addressed the current situation in the conflict zone and reaffirmed his country's gratitude for Argentina´s solidarity and its support at the multilateral level.
During the meeting, the officials resumed talks on the possibility of our country hosting a Latin America-Ukraine summit in the first half of 2024.
Finally, Foreign Minister Mondino ratified Argentina's commitment to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of States and to Human Rights, which are permanent pillars of our country's foreign policy. In addition, she rejected the use of force as a mechanism for resolving conflicts and reiterated her condemnation of Russia's invasion of Ukrainian territory.
