On Tuesday 5 March, Foreign Minister Mondino held a working meeting with the CEO of Google Argentina, Víctor Manuel Valle, where they discussed potential areas for cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and the company based in Mountain View, California.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mondino highlighted that the Foreign Ministry is working to strengthen Argentina’s international technological positioning by establishing public-private partnerships supported by the Argentine diplomatic representations and the network of Argentine businesspeople abroad.
In that respect, Valle underscored the importance of building synergy with the Foreign Ministry’s Directorates in charge of export promotion in order to deepen effective cooperation between the parties.
Particularly, Mondino invited the Google Argentina team to explore lines of collaboration that may contribute to carrying out the Foreign Ministry’s priority actions, such as the internationalization of Argentine companies, the creation of Argentine digital hubs, and the production of the Digital Catalogue of Argentine Art (Argentine exportable art supply). On this last subject, the possibility of using the Google Arts and Culture platform was discussed.
Finally, the CEO of Google Argentina announced that the company’s VP of Global Public Policy, Karan Bhatia, will be visiting Argentina in May.
The meeting was also attended by Marcelo Cima, Secretary for International Economic Relations; Ramiro Velloso, Undersecretary for Promotion of Exports, Investments, Education, Science and Culture; Eleonora Rabinovich, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google Spanish LatAm; Tamar Colodenco, Public Policy and Government Relations Manager for Southern Cone at Google; Natalia Scalister, Country Manager of Google Cloud for Argentina; and Hernán Van Messem, Government Field Sales Representative of Google Cloud.
