In the context of the High-level Week of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, whose General Debate begins on Tuesday 24 September in New York, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, as member of the delegation headed by President Javier Milei, will have a busy schedule of bilateral meetings with high-level authorities from various countries, as well as multilateral meetings with her counterparts from G20, MERCOSUR, Ibero-America and the Brasilia Consensus, among other activities.
On Monday 23 September, the Foreign Minister will accompany President Milei in the morning during his speech at the New York Stock Exchange before investors at the opening of the trading session. Then, she will participate in a High-level Meeting regarding the situations in Ukraine, Latin America and the Caribbean at the International Peace Institute. In the afternoon, Mondino will attend a meeting of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
The General Debate of the 79th Session of the General Assembly will open on Tuesday, 24 September at the UN headquarters, where President Milei will address world leaders. On the margins of the General Assembly, Foreign Minister Mondino will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Italy, Antonio Tajani, and Egypt, Badr Abdelatty. In the evening, she will attend a dinner of the Board of Advisors of the CFR.
On Wednesday 25, Foreign Minister Mondino will deliver a speech at the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which will be opened by the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres. In addition, she will meet with her counterparts from El Salvador, Alexandra Hill; Estonia, Margus Tsahkna; and the Hellenic Republic, George Gerapetritis; and with the Secretary General of the Ibero-American General Secretariat, Diego Allamand. Later, she will attend the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism.
On Thursday 26, the Foreign Minister will kick-off her activities with a working breakfast with the Ibero-American Ministers of Foreign Affairs and, then, she will be present at the High-level Meeting on the situation in Venezuela. So far, Mondino has scheduled meetings with her counterparts from Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel; Belize, Francis Fonseca; and the United Arab Emirates, His Highness bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.
On Friday 27, her last day in New York, Mondino will attend the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Brasilia Consensus as well as a Meeting with Jewish organizations at the headquarters of the Argentine Permanent Mission to the UN. Finally, the Foreign Ministers of MERCOSUR will meet with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts from the Netherlands, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Uganda, among others, as part of her busy agenda in New York.
