Foreign Minister Diana Mondino met with the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the German Bundestag, Michael Grosse-Brom, joined by a delegation of six other members of that Parliamentary Committee and by Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

The Foreign Minister discussed the bilateral economic and trade agenda with the German delegation and expressed Argentina’s intention to increase and diversify Argentine exports to Germany. She also stressed the importance given by Argentina to the energy partnership between both countries.

Then, she thanked Germany for its trust in Argentina’s economic reactivation and referred to the reforms underway and the expectations over the arrival of new investments in the country. Finally, she highlighted Argentina’s interest—also shared by Germany—in the prompt conclusion of negotiations on the MERCOSUR-European Union (EU) Strategic Partnership Agreement.

Germany is our main trade partner within the EU and one of the top investors in Argentina, with a presence in key sectors for the development of our economy, including infrastructure, energy, crude oil and natural gas extraction, and the manufacturing industry.
