International Women’s Day is commemorated on 8 March to highlight the essential role of all women in our society. This is also a priority in our foreign policy. Therefore, and for the first time, during the month of March all Argentine Embassies around the world will undertake activities emphasizing the work of women, through cultural events, press conferences, training seminars, interviews, and meetings.
In addition, on 9 March, a ceremony commemorating the date will be held to honour all women working at the Foreign Ministry and at Argentina’s diplomatic missions around the world.
Women, in all their diversity, have a fundamental role as drivers of change to achieve more inclusive, just, and prosperous societies. The Foreign Ministry’s Directorate for Women and Gender Affairs works to defend and promote the rights of all women in our country and worldwide.
