Foreign Minister Diana Mondino held a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America, Marc Stanley; the Minister of Production of the province of Santa Fe, Gustavo Puccini; the Executive Vice President of the company Nitron, Tomás Novak; and the President and CEO of PTP Group, Guillermo Misiano. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary for Productive Development of the province of Santa Fe, Georgina Losada, and the Undersecretary for Promotion of Trade, Investments, Culture, Education and Science, Ramiro Velloso, along with other officials from Santa Fe and the aforementioned companies, as well as from the Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of the United States of America.

During the meeting, Novak and Misiano presented the investment project developed in the Santa Fe Free Trade Zone of Villa Constitución for around 50 million dollars. This investment will enable the establishment of warehouses for fertilizers and products in the future that, together with the construction of a modern port, will optimize the marketing and distribution of fertilizers among Argentine and regional producers.

Both Foreign Minister Mondino and Ambassador Stanley were interested in the scope and implications of such an important investment, reaffirming the commitment to this type of projects, aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the Argentine productive sector.

Nitron is a global trader of chemicals and fertilizers. Its headquarters are in Greenwich, Connecticut, United States of America. Its main sales market has traditionally been Latin America, but in recent years the company has expanded into other markets, such as North America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Southeast Asia.

The company specializes in fertilizers and its three main products are nitrogen, phosphates and potash, together with products derived from combinations of these three. It should also be noted that the company has established distribution networks worldwide. Currently, it trades approximately 8 million tonnes of these products globally and its sales amount to more than USD 3 billion.

PTP Group is an Argentine logistics company that has been granted a 30-years concession for the Villa Constitución Free Trade Zone. Through the agreement with Nitron, 15 of the 60 hectares of PTP's free zone will be used to store 150,000 tonnes of solid fertilizers and 60,000 tonnes of liquid fertilizers to supply its customers in the region.
