On March 5, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino received the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Argentina, Ramzi Teymurov. After the protocol greeting, Minister Mondino and the Azerbaijani Ambassador reviewed the broad bilateral agenda.
They highlighted the complementarity between both economies and the potential for joint work in terms of exports of agricultural machinery and pharmaceutical products; seed development; and technical cooperation in agricultural matters (food production in arid areas) and livestock (animal husbandry).
Ambassador Teymurov referred to a recent technical mission by ProMendoza with the aim of studying the possibilities of viticulture in Azerbaijan. In this regard, both Ministers agreed to promote trade missions and work with the objective of holding the next meeting of the Joint Commission (COMIXTA) and round of Political Consultations (CONPOL) between both countries.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador recalled that the city of Baku will be hosting the twenty-ninth Conference of Parties (COP29) that will take place from November 11 to 24, and they discussed possibilities of cooperation on space matters and peaceful use of nuclear energy, particularly regarding its medical applications.
In 2023, the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
