Foreign Minister Diana Mondino and Secretary for International Economic Relations Marcelo Sima attended to a luncheon held at the Embassy of Japan, the country which presides over the G7, together with ambassadors of the G7 countries–Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom–and the EU.

They discussed the status of the negotiations for the MERCOSUR-EU Agreement and Mondino mentioned that Argentina is actively working, together with the members of the bloc, to reach a mutually beneficial agreement as soon as possible.

The next steps regarding Argentina’s process of accession to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) were discussed as well. This process has been set in motion as one of the foreign policy priorities.

In addition, Mondino addressed the Foreign Ministry’s new structure and other current topics regarding foreign policy.

Lastly, she discussed with the ambassadors different issues related to the latest economic measures announced by President Javier Milei, which will initiate a new period of growth for the country.

Thus, the ties that bind us with our international partners, which are key to the country’s development, continue to be strengthened.
