Foreign Minister Diana Mondino will travel to Asunción tonight and will be received, along with her colleagues from Member States of MERCOSUR and Bolivia, by the Foreign Minister of Paraguay, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, within the framework of an official dinner organized by the neighboring country.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Foreign Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with her counterpart of Uruguay, Omar Paganini. Later, she will attend the plenary session of the Foreign Ministers of MERCOSUR and Bolivia, to be held at the Benigno López Palace, headquarters of the Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the closing of the MERCOSUR – European Union agreement, in a beneficial manner for both parties, will be promoted and the future agenda of external relations will be discussed. In addition, the priorities of the Pro Tempore Presidency of Paraguay, the deepening of integration mechanisms and other agreements with international markets will be analyzed.
After a lunch offered by the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, to the visiting ministers, Mondino and his Paraguayan counterpart will have a bilateral meeting to discuss key issues on the agenda between both countries, as well as the bloc and the region.
The Minister will be accompanied in Asunción by the Undersecretary of American Affairs, Mariano Vergara; the National Director of MERCOSUR, Roxana Sánchez, and the Argentine Chargé d'Affaires in Paraguay, Fernando Vallina Padró.
