Argentina deeply regrets the decision taken by the Government of Nicaragua to order the mission of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to leave the country. The United Nations team has been in Nicaragua since 20 June in order to analyze the current human rights situation within the context of the crisis that broke out last April and has already claimed the lives of over 300 people.
Argentina considers that the decision negatively affects the human rights situation and represents a setback to efforts by the international community to help find a way out of the crisis.
