The Council of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) met on 29 and 30 January 2024 and took notice of the letter from the Argentine Republic whereby the country accepted the invitation extended on 25 January 2022 for OECD accession.
The next stage will consist of the design of a Road Map for the Argentine Republic’s accession process, which will be prepared by the OECD Secretariat and also requires approval from the OECD Council.
The Road Map is expected to be presented at the next meeting of the OECD Council in Paris in May, which Foreign Minister Diana Mondino is expected to attend.
This milestone is further substantive progress for the Argentine Republic in pursuit of its goal of strengthening the country’s insertion into the international arena and the rules-based multilateral system.
