On the passing of Héctor Cacho Otheguy

The Argentine Foreign Ministry deeply regrets the death of INVAP president Héctor “Cacho” Otheguy, and conveys its deep condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

During his time as General Manager of the company (1991-2018), INVAP S.E. became a leader in the cutting-edge technology market; in the export of research nuclear reactors; in the space industry, through the design and manufacture of satellites for Earth observation and for communications; and in the development of radars for civil and military use.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry will especially remember his initiatives as the cornerstone of Argentine development and remember him as one of the most notable persons in the field of science and technology, someone who—from his position at INVAP—advocated for genuine job creation for technicians trained in the region, in an area in which Argentina stands out as producer and exporter of high added-value technologies that are a source of pride for our country.
