Gustavo Zlauvinen, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic, received his Colombian counterpart, Luz Stella Jara Portilla, at the Palacio San Martín, for the 5th Meeting of the Political Coordination and Integration Committee.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Ministers and their teams worked on the preparation of President Iván Duque's upcoming visit to Argentina, and discussed different issues on the bilateral agenda, such as technical and cultural cooperation, consular and migration affairs, the development of the creative industries, the recognition of university degrees, cooperation on human rights issues, defence matters, the fight against transnational organized crime and human trafficking, and the extradition regime in force between both countries.
In addition, the Deputy Foreign Ministers analysed Venezuela's situation, especially focusing on the humanitarian crisis and the humanitarian assistance shipments in the Colombian city of Cúcuta. They addressed this issue bearing in mind the regional forums in which both countries participate: the Lima Group, the Quito Process and the OAS.
Finally, Zlauvinen and Jara Portilla agreed to work together in relation to the next commitments on the bilateral and regional agenda and the forthcoming official visit of President Duque to Argentina.
