Today, the Chief of the Private Office of the Foreign Ministry, Guillermo Justo Chaves, and the Secretary for the Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic, Daniel Filmus, met with the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas of the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, Miroslav Jenča, who oversees the UN Committee on Decolonization that tomorrow will hold a session to address the Question of the Malvinas, among other topics.
During the meeting, which lasted more than one hour, the Argentine officials outlined the need to take a step forward to resume dialogue between Argentina and the United Kingdom, in compliance with Resolution 2065 adopted by the UN General Assembly.
Both parties committed to continue working tirelessly, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow’s session of the UN Committee on Decolonization, and to make further efforts in order for Argentina and the United Kingdom to engage in dialogue.
