Solá and Scioli addressed priorities on the bilateral agenda, focusing on trade between both countries and the strategic role that the Argentina-Brazil relationship has for MERCOSUR. Guillermo Justo Chaves Chief of Staff to the Minister, also joined the meeting.

During the meeting with Hunt, the Foreign Minister highlighted the intention of the Argentine Foreign Ministry to strengthen and enhance the different areas of the relationship between Argentina and Japan, so that Argentine companies can enter the Japanese market with new higher-priced and value-added products. They also discussed details of the visit by Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, scheduled to take place on January 6 and 7.

Argentina and Japan share close political, economic, and cultural links, including joint work in a wide range of areas. The two countries have had diplomatic relations for over 120 years.
