Visit by U.S. Secretary of Commerce: Meeting with Faurie

Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross held a working meeting today at which they highlighted the strong relationship between the countries and acknowledged the significant progress made on investment, energy development and trade exchanges. They agreed to continue working to intensify and expand economic and trade negotiations, thus strengthening the strategic relationship between both countries.

Furthermore, they discussed the regional agenda, especially the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, condemning Maduro's dictatorship and expressing support for Interim President Juan Guaidó in his efforts to restore democracy in Venezuela.
