The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, Rogelio Maita Maita, reiterated the support of the Government and the Bolivian people for the legitimate sovereignty rights of the Argentine Republic over the Malvinas, South Georgias, and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime space areas, within the framework of during the official visit made to Bolivia by the Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs, Felipe Solá.
He also recalled the regional interest that the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to resume negotiations in order to find, as soon as possible, a peaceful and definitive solution to the sovereignty dispute, in accordance with the Resolutions of the United Nations and the Declarations of the OAS and CELAC, among other international forums.
The Bolivian official also highlighted that unilateral measures, including the exploitation of renewable and non-renewable natural resources in the disputed area, are incompatible with what was agreed in the United Nations.
On his behalf, theArgentine Minister of Foreign Affairs, Felipe Solá, expressed his deep gratitude, on behalf of the Government and people of Argentina, for the traditional support provided in this matter by the Bolivian Government and the people of Bolivia.
