Conference on the Malvinas Question at the Complutense University of Madrid

The Secretary of the Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic, Daniel Filmus, gave a conference on the historical, legal and political aspects of the Malvinas Question, within the framework of the postgraduate course "Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding" at the School of Government of the Complutense University of Madrid.

The Argentine Ambassador to Spain, Ricardo Alfonsín, and two specialists in International Relations and professors from the Complutense University of Madrid, Dr. Heriberto Cairo and Dr. Isaías Barreñada Bajo also took part in the conference.

The Secretary of the Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic explained in detail the main historical and legal arguments that support the Argentine position on the Malvinas Question. In this sense, Filmus stressed that Argentina will continue to express its negotiating will as a true State policy "until a definitive solution to this sovereignty dispute is achieved, in the terms indicated by the United Nations and in accordance with the principles of International Law" .

During the discussion, organized by the School of Government of the Complutense University, Filmus discussed the Malvinas Question with doctors Cairo and Barreñada Bajo, among other renowned professors from that prestigious Madrid university.
