Geography and climate:
Argentina is commonly described as a land of sharp contrasts, due to its rich and varied geography. From the Andes in the West —running along the border with Chile from North to South and whose highest peak is Aconcagua, rising to 6,959 metres— to the Pampean plains and the Atlantic coastlines, going through mountain ranges, numerous forests, jungles, deserts and fertile valleys, Argentina's biodiversity of ecosystems allows the development of rich flora and fauna. Many of Argentina's natural sites are protected areas, reservations and national parks. Some of the main natural sites have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, such as the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Iguazu Falls.
Argentina's main characteristic is diversity, and this is also the case with its climate. The weather is mild and humid in the Pampas, cold and damp in the western Patagonia, subtropical in Mesopotamia, and warm in the North-Western Region. The highest points throughout the country are the coldest areas, with an arid, mountain climate and a wide temperature range.

Religion
Argentina is a multicultural country which, due to the various migration flows, gradually acquired a plural and multireligious identity.
With a mostly Catholic population, Argentina's religious makeup comprises members of various Christian communities, the largest Latin American Jewish community, a growing Islamic community, Buddhists, Africanistic traditions and Hare Krishna, among others.

Currency, Trade and Banking information
Argentina's currency is the Argentine peso.
In the main cities, shops are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM, but shops located on big avenues remain open until evening. In provincial towns, there is usually a midday recess, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Shopping malls are open from 10 AM to 10 PM, including on weekends and some holidays. A tip of 10% of the bill is customary for many (especially gastronomic) services. The tip is not always included in the bill. Tips are often given as well to doormen, porters and ushers.
Even though US dollars and Euros are usually accepted at stores and shops, exchange services are exclusivey provided by currency exchanges. The most widely accepted credit cards are American Express, VISA, Diners and Master Card. Traveler's checks can be easily exchanged in Buenos Aires, but may be difficult to use in some provincial towns.
Banks are open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM. Cash withdrawals and other transactions may be carried out through ATMs which operate 24/7. For offices, usual business hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, with a lunch break (12 AM to 1 PM or 1 PM to 2 PM).

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Ministro Pistarini International Airport
- Ministro Pistarini International Airport, commonly known as Ezeiza International Airport, is in the city of Ezeiza, approximately 30 km away from the centre of Buenos Aires.
It is the access point for incoming long-distance international flights to Argentina—the largest, most modern air terminal in Argentina—and it is rated among the best airports in Latin America.
Ezeiza International Airport is the international operations base for Argentine flag carrier Aerolíneas Argentinas.
The airport opened in 1949; it operates with a large number of airlines, flying to nearly all countries.
The airport has capacity for 13 million passengers and 90,000 operations each year. Flights from Ezeiza airport reach domestic and international destinations across four continents. - The entity in charge of the Ministro Pistarini International Airport is Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, which offers information at https://www.aa2000.com.ar/ezeizaGeneral inquiries may be directed at:

Further details will be provided at a later time.
- There are trolleys available to passengers free of charge in the baggage claim area. In the same area, passengers can obtain information on lost baggage.
- Event participants can exchange currency near the arrivals terminal.
Departure
- Passengers must arrive at the airport three hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of their flight. Waiting lines at check-in counters, security checks, baggage screening and passport control can imply a delay in transit through to the departures terminal.
Passport control, immigration, baggage, and customs desks
- It should be noted that delegation members will receive special assistance in order to comply with all formalities at passport control, the immigration desk, customs and baggage claim areas. In the specific case of passport control, the Immigration Department has checkpoints at various entry and exit points of the Ministro Pistarini International Airport in order to ensure that the travel documents of passengers comply with applicable requirements.
Check-in
- Some airlines offer online check-in services. Please check with your airline if the service is available.
- Some passengers can use self-service counters to check in and print their boarding passes.
- Departure areas have clearly visible check-in counters. Airline and Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 ground staff are available to provide guidance to event participants as regards boarding and immigration desk procedures.
- In the check-in desk area, event participants can request baggage weighing, wrapping and check services. Participants leaving the country will also be able to shop for souvenirs at duty-free shops, including perfumes, jewellery, clothing, Argentine crafts, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and electronic devices.
Terminals
The Ministro Pistarini International Airport has three passenger terminals (A, B and C) and one cargo terminal (TCA).
Terminal A
- Inaugurated in 2000, with a surface area of 56,000 sq. m., it is used by nearly all of the international airlines operating in the airport. This is the most complete terminal of the three in the airport, offering a broad range of services. It has several restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, pharmacies, souvenir shops, bookstores, free WiFi, passport renewal service, Argentine Postal Service and drug stores, among other services.
All airlines that are not part of the SkyTeam alliance operate at this terminal.
New Terminal B
- New Terminal B is partially operational for international departures.
Terminal C
- This terminal is used by Aerolíneas Argentinas, Austral Líneas Aéreas and LATAM Argentina (domestic flights only) for domestic flight arrivals and departures, and for international flight departures, as well as by SkyTeam alliance airlines (Alitalia, Air France, Delta Air Lines and KLM) for departures, except for Air Europa and Aeroméxico.
Inaugurated in 2011, this terminal has a 21,000 sq. m. surface area and 6 boarding bridges, 2,500 parking spaces, baggage carousels, 12 immigration desks, more than 600 seats in the pre-boarding area, a new bridge over the Ricchieri highway (exclusive access to the cargo terminal), and a modern salvage and fire system.
All international arrivals at the Ezeiza International Airport take place in Terminal A.
Private charter flights
- Event participants who arrive or depart on private or charter flights may use ground assistance services offered by charter companies at the Ministro Pistarini International Airport.
