On September 29, the Commission for Dialogue on Malvinas in Bulgaria kicked off, after five years of the last meeting of the then Malvinas Group of Support .

The Commission meeting, organized by the Argentine Embassy in Sofia, was attended by prestigious members of the Bulgarian academic community, scientists, journalists and businessmen from this country, such as the President of the Bulgarian-Macedonian Chamber of Commerce, who debated on the Malvinas Question and gave their support to the legitimate sovereign rights of our country over the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime spaces, as well as urging the United Kingdom to resume negotiations.

The Commission agreed on a plan of action for the coming months in order to strengthen the Malvinas Question in this country. This includes a conference at the University of Sofia on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the adoption of UN Resolution 2065, commemorative activities within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Argentina and Bulgaria, meetings with Bulgarian journalists and intercede before local political actors and the United Nations to express their support for our country in its claim of sovereignty.

Bulgaria has repeatedly stated within the UN that the Malvinas Question must be solved through bilateral talks between Argentina and the United Kingdom. Likewise, in January, 2012 the Argentine Embassy in Sofia created the Group of Support with the Question of the Malvinas Islands, which remained active until December, 2015.

Since December, 2019, the Argentine Government has been promoting the formation of Commissions for Dialogue on Malvinas at the international level, a task that Argentine representations abroad have been promoting.
