Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie participated alongside the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers of the Argentine Republic, Marcos Peña, and other Argentine officials in the official ceremony headed by the President of Chile, Sebastián Piñeira, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Maipú, one of Chile's wars of independence.
The ceremony was held at the lookout point of the Templo Votivo and continued at the Maipú National Sanctuary, in the Metropolitan Region, where a military parade took place. The Chilean Head of State then received the Argentine delegation at the Chilean House of Government, the Palacio de La Moneda.
