The Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Foradori, held a work meeting in Moscow with his counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, on the occasion of the political consultation meeting between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
The Deputy Foreign Ministers discussed the issues addressed at the meetings held at the Presidential and Ministerial levels during 2016, and agreed on the mutual interest in continuing to develop and strengthen the bilateral relationship, within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
They also addressed cooperation in the following fields: The United Nations and other international organizations, human rights, new challenges and threats, and disarmament and non-proliferation. These topics were also considered from a technical perspective at other bilateral meetings during 2016.
The Deputy Foreign Ministers also analyzed the situation of several bilateral agreements already signed or under negotiation, and exchanged opinions on the main topics on the global agenda, the progress made with respect to the regional organizations in which the two countries participate, and the cooperation prospects at different multilateral fora, particularly the G20, which will be presided over by Argentina in 2018.
