Argentine delegation meets with un Deputy Secretary-General

The delegation accompanying the Argentine Foreign Minister, Jorge Faurie, met today with the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed.

Minister Faurie himself, senators Federico Pinedo, Julio Cobos and Rodolfo Urtubey, the Governor of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands, Roxana Bertone, and the Argentine representative to the UN, Martín García Moritán, among other officials, discussed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda with Mohammed. In this context, Faurie underscored that one of the main goals of President Mauricio Macri's Government is to eradicate poverty completely.

Furthermore, the parties underscored that hosting the G20 Forum in Argentina next year is a great opportunity for our country, and they talked about the goal of empowering women. Foreign Minister Faurie stressed that the G20 Women's Working Group (W20) is one of the groups on which a special focus is to be placed during the multilateral meeting.
