Today, Argentina was elected as host country of the International Expo 2023 by the Bureau International des Expositions, over Poland and the United States.

The Argentine candidacy was jointly coordinated by the Foreign Ministry and the Federal System of Media and Public Content, with the support of the entire Argentine Federal Government.

The Buenos Aires Expo 2023 will be the first exposition of its kind to be held in Latin America. The first Expo was held in London, followed by others such as the Paris World Exhibition of 1889, which left the Eiffel Tower as its legacy.

The theme chosen by Argentina is "Creative Industries in Digital Convergence", emphasizing industries based on knowledge and digital product development, in line with several promotion projects of this type of economy throughout the country and primarily in Buenos Aires.

The Buenos Aires Expo 2023 will be an excellent opportunity for Argentina to be reinstated as the port of entry to the region and become a benchmark in the field of digital economy, a global USD 4.3 billion business. It will also entail infrastructure improvement and development in the Tecnópolis complex and Parque Sarmiento area, similar to that carried out in the Buenos Aires Olympic Village for the Youth Olympic Games.

The Buenos Aires Expo 2023 is one of the various upcoming major international events to be held in our country, in addition to the 11th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, the Youth Olympic Games 2018 and the G20 Presidency and Summit.
