On 1 March 2018, the Argentine Foreign Ministry organized a Conference on the Application of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions, which was attended by officials from courts and federal prosecution offices, as well as from the Argentine Attorney General's Office.
The event, held at the Palacio San Martín, was headed by the Legal Counsellor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Mario Oyarzabal, and was attended by the Director for International Legal Assistance, María del Carmen Seoane de Chiodi, the Coordinator of the Operational Division for Crimes against the Public Administration of the Prosecution Office for Economic Crimes and Money Laundering (PROCELAC), Ileana Schygielel, and legal advisors Mariela Bondar and Aldana Rohr.
The purpose of the event was to provide practical training in order to strengthen the bonds between the various bodies involved in requests for mutual legal assistance in criminal matters with respect to the offences covered by the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.
