The Argentine Government expresses its great consternation at today’s air strikes that hit two refugee camps in Syria’s northern province of Idlib, leaving at least 30 people dead and 80 injured.
These bombings follow last week’s air strikes on hospital facilities such as the al-Quds hospital, in the province of Aleppo, which killed around 20 civilians including three children and the last pediatrician left in the region.
Argentina extends its condolences and solidarity to the Syrian people and to the victims’ families.
Argentina condemns the unwarranted violence that continues to haunt Syria and reiterates its firm intention to support efforts by the United Nations and the international community to reinforce ceasefire mechanisms, to reach an immediate solution to the profound humanitarian crisis as well as a political agreement that ends the Syrian conflict, within the framework of respect for international law, including humanitarian law, and human rights.
