Today, the "Training course for CELAC countries on access to Chinese financing within the framework of the CELAC-China Forum", held on 30 November and 1 December at the Manuel Belgrano Auditorium of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, concluded successfully.
The course was organized by the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the Academy for International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce of China, which provided the funds for the course.
The course, taught mainly by Chinese specialists, was aimed at representatives of over 20 CELAC countries and national and provincial agencies, with a view to promoting opportunities for the countries of the region to access loans granted by China.
The opening speech was delivered by the Undersecretary for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, Leopoldo Sahores, in his capacity as National Coordinator to CELAC, who underscored that "there are many areas in which to work jointly with China and the CELAC-China Forum is a major platform for expanding such work." In addition, there were speeches by specialists of distinguished financial institutions, such as the China Development Bank, the Development Bank of Latin America, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the China EximBank, foreign officials and officials of the Argentine Ministry of Finance.
The CELAC-China Forum is a regional cooperation mechanism established in 2014 with a view to achieving growth and sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean and in the People's Republic of China.
