Faurie went on to meet with his counterpart from Tunisia, Khemaies Jhinaoui, with whom he agreed on the great opportunities that exist and the shared interest in increasing bilateral trade.

In that vein, they agreed to resume economic and political consultations next year, so as to identify new trade opportunities and continue strengthening cooperation.

The Foreign Ministers also analyzed the progress made in the exploratory dialogue between Mercosur and Tunisia that was begun in the context of Mercosur's reinsertion into the world.
