On 17 November, the "FIRST ARGENTINE EXHIBITION IN PARAGUAY" will take place at the Argentine Embassy in Paraguay.
This initiative is the result of joint work by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, the Argentine Embassy in Paraguay, and the Argentina-Paraguay Chamber of Commerce, as well as by the community of Argentine businesspersons who reside in Paraguay and representatives of the Paraguayan private sector maintaining business ties with Argentina.
The objectives of the Exhibition are: to increase exports of Argentine products with added value to Paraguay; to promote Argentine companies exporting goods and services to Paraguay by publicizing Argentine companies and investments in Paraguay; to strengthen ties between business owners from both countries; to promote Argentine tourist destinations, and to contribute to Argentina's country image positioning in Paraguay.
On this occasion, 50 exhibitors will promote their products and services from a variety of sectors, such as gourmet products and food, wines, agricultural machinery, construction items, franchises, software, consulting, tourism and hospitality, before an audience from the business sector and from the general public. In addition, Banco de la Nación Argentina and Aerolíneas Argentinas will participate as exhibitors.
In addition to integrating trade and tourism promotion, the event will also be a cultural and food festival, including artistic shows and product tasting activities.
There are growing business opportunities between Argentina and Paraguay which are reflected in an increase in business trips and requests for information submitted by the private sector to the Argentine Embassy in Paraguay. As regards bilateral trade, Argentina has traditionally had a trade surplus, and more than 60% of exports involve products with added value. In 2015, Argentine exports to Paraguay amounted to USD 1.054 billion, posting a trade surplus of USD 644 million. (Source: INDEC)
In addition, Paraguay stands out as the second destination for Argentine franchises, with Uruguay holding the first position. There are currently more than 75 Argentine trademarks in the Paraguayan market, most of which are from the fashion and food industries.
