Within the framework of the OAS General Assembly in Cancun, Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie met with the United States Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan, with whom he reviewed the different priorities of the bilateral relations, including measures to increase bilateral trade, achieve greater access for Argentine products to the US market, promote investment in Argentina, cooperate in the field of security and the fight against drug trafficking and terrorism.
They also addressed the situation in Venezuela, the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference to be held in Buenos Aires next December, the Argentine G-20 Presidency in 2018 and the Argentine Government's intention to join the OECD.
Finally, Foreign Minister Faurie expressed the Argentine Government's satisfaction with next August's visit by the United States Vice-President, Mike Pence, which reflects the growing importance of the bilateral relations.
