Foreign Ministry enhances customer service in Certifications office

As instructed by Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie, who visited the Certifications Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, personnel has been increased and technological equipment has been enhanced to offer a more dynamic service to customers that come to the Foreign Ministry to have documents certified, in view of the considerable increase in customers and applications reported in the last few days in the run-up to the summer season.

On 22-27 November, 2366 customers were served, 25% per cent of which submitted applications for document certifications as agents or on behalf of companies. There was also an increase in the number of individual applications.

On Monday this week, 1949 applications were filed, that is, 95% over the normal daily average, which resulted in 1237 documents being processed between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. and certified on the same day, while the other 712 applications were processed at the Certifications Office as from 6.00 on the following day to be delivered to customers.

It should be noted that, according to the records of the Foreign Ministry, 1000 certifications and apostilles on average are processed daily, and the number of customers especially increases in July, November and December, when around 1300/1400 documents are submitted daily.
