57th Venice Art Biennale ended
Sunday 26 November saw the conclusion of the 57th edition of the Venice Art Biennale, with Argentina's prominent participation coordinated by the National Directorate for Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.
Since the inauguration of the Biennale in May, the Argentine Pavilion showcased "The Horse's Problem", the sculpture by artist Claudia Fontes.
The project choice was the result of a thorough selection by an Evaluation Committee composed of important Curators, such as Adriana Rosenberg, Mercedes Casanegra, Inés Katzenstein, María Teresa Constantín, Rodrigo Alonso, Fabián Lebenglik, Fernando Farina and Américo Castilla, as well as the National Director for Cultural Affairs, Mauricio Wainrot.
On this occasion, the Curator of the exhibition was architect Andrés Duprat, Director of the National Museum of Fine Arts, and it was the first time that this methodology was used to select the artist and the work that represented our country in Venice.
The Argentine Foreign Ministry, through the National Directorate for Cultural Affairs, supported this project and it offers its assistance to creators who represent Argentine art across the world.
Events such as the Venice Biennale are an important part of the promotion of Argentine culture abroad and of the international positioning of our country's artwork, renowned for the quality of our artists.
