In view of the presence of a trade and tourism desk of the Malvinas Islands within the United Kingdom's stand at the International Exhibition of Cattle Breeding and Agri-Industry (EXPO PRADO) held in Montevideo, Republic of Uruguay, the Argentine Foreign Ministry informs that:
Prior to the beginning of the International Exhibition, and according to the instructions of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, officials of the Argentine Embassy in Montevideo met with authorities from the Uruguayan Foreign Ministry to strongly express Argentina's dissatisfaction with the announcement of such desk, so as to find a solution in line with the Uruguayan government's long-standing support for Argentina in the Malvinas question.
Further similar demarches took place at the beginning of the Exhibition.
Argentina regrets this action that the British Government has been reiterating since 2015 and hopes to count on the support and understanding of the Uruguayan Government and the Exhibition authorities to prevent this situation from being repeated in future Exhibitions.
