President Mauricio Macri made a floral offering to the Virgen of Candelaria, patron of Humahuaca city, and attended a religious ceremony given by Monsignor Pedro Olmedo in the city Cathedral.
The President went to the Cathedral “Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria” together with the Governor of Jujuy Gerardo Morales.
Every year on February 2nd people from Humahuaca gather to celebrate the Patron Festival to honour the Virgen. Also many followers from other parts of the province come to show their devotion and faith for the Candelaria Mom or “ Mamita de la Candelaria”.
Furthermore, this is a special year as it was celebrated the 50th anniversary of Humahuaca Prelature.
