As part of the plan of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote the internationalization of SMEs and regional economies, the Sessions for the Promotion of Exports to Central America are being held.
At the meeting with the heads of foreign trade of the Provinces and representatives of sectoral chambers, Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Foradori, Secretary for International Economic Relations María Cristina Boldorini, and Undersecretariat for Trade Promotion and Investment Development Marcelo Lucco highlighted the importance of organizing these sessions, in order for the strategic trade information obtained at our Embassies around the world to be made available to all productive sectors and regional economies.
In this respect, the heads of the trade sectors of our Embassies in Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica offered information on the characteristics and potential of the Central American market to receive growing Argentine exports with high added national value in sectors such as industry, agricultural production and technology.
It is expected that similar meetings will be held throughout 2017 with the heads of the trade sectors of our Embassies in other world regions.
The meeting held at the Palacio San Martin was attended by the Ministers of Production of the Provinces of Corrientes, Jorbe Alberto Vara, and Chubut, Hernán Alonso, as well as other high-level officers representing the provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Córdoba, Chaco, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, San Juan, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
In addition, among the Chambers present were COPAL, ADIMRA, CADIEEL, CAPA, CAMARA DE LEGUMBRES, CAFYDMA, CAFMA, CAFI, CIPA, and the SME Observatory of UIA.
In turn, this week the city of Córdoba will hold a series of business roundtables with Central American businesspersons who travelled to Argentina for the occasion, as part of a joint initiative of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, ProCordoba, and the Argentine provinces of the centre region.
