Within approximately two weeks, the biodiesel market of the European Union will reopen for Argentina, after the adjustment of tariffs in accordance with the WTO ruling in favour of Argentina that the definitive anti-dumping duties imposed on Argentine biodiesel exports were inconsistent.
Until 2013, Argentina was the largest biodiesel supplier of the European Union.
The new tariffs are expected to be promptly applied, considering that this process is coming to an end after four years of litigation before the World Trade Organization.
The European Union's decision is also a sign of respect for international trade rules.
Biodiesel is a major part of the value chain of the Argentine oilseed industry, which is highly competitive at the international level and has a significant economic impact on provincial economies, thus creating added value, jobs and foreign currency inflows.
This achievement is the result of joint work by the public and private sectors at national and provincial levels.
We reaffirm once again our decision and determination to ensure, through all mechanisms available, access to international markets for Argentine products and services.
