Second meeting of Argentina – Brazil Political Coordination mechanism

Today, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Argentine Republic, Daniel Raimondi, and the Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Marcos Bezerra Abbott Galvao, held theSecond Meeting of the Argentina-Brazil Political Coordination Mechanism, created on 23 May 2016.

On the occasion, both officials assessed the progress made on commitments and agreements included in the "Action Plan" signed by the Presidents of Argentina and Brazil in February 2017, on issues such as trade facilitation, regulatory cooperation, the strengthening of MERCOSUR and its external negotiations, agriculture, air transport, integration of physical infrastructure, border security cooperation and cooperation on nuclear, space, legal, consular and telecommunications matters, among others.

Both officials then exchanged views on the situation in the region, as well as on global issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Bezerra Abbott Galvao thanked his Argentine counterpart for the hospitality extended to him during his stay in Argentina and invited him to the Third Meeting of this Mechanism to be held in the city of Brasilia, on a date to be agreed upon.
