The Governments of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay express their support for the decision of the high authorities of Honduras's Supreme Electoral Tribunal to recount all the challenged voting records of the recently held presidential election.
The endorsing Governments support the preliminary report and recommendations of the OAS Electoral Observation Mission calling on the main candidates to reach an agreement that leads to the acceptance of the final and legitimate electoral outcome supported by the people as the expression of the popular will.
The endorsing Governments call on the Honduran people to peacefully await the result of the recount, and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening democracy in the region.
