Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie participated in the Business Forum of the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference, held at the Kirchner Cultural Centre (CCK), where he highlighted that the issue of agricultural subsidies in developed countries is "of the utmost importance for Argentina, given that our country is a major world producer and aspires to become the supermarket of the world; therefore, we follow this situation with interest and concern".

On a panel coordinated by the Secretary for Trade, Miguel Braun, and comprised of the EU Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström; the Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Wang Shouwen; the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Hiroshige Seko; and the Moroccan Secretary for Industry and Trade, Rakiya Eddarhem, the Argentine Foreign Minister highlighted the need to "make the work of international organizations more inclusive".

"This is an opportunity to rethink the role of multilateralism and reflect on the role of the WTO, which must include the private sector more actively in order to renew the way negotiations are conducted," Minister Faurie stated.
