In the framework of the actions of dissemination and visibility of the Malvinas Question in international academic and scientific fields, the Secretary of Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Filmus, gave lectures at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and to the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador.
On April 15, Filmus gave a lecture during an activity organized by the UNAM Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CIALC-UNAM) before students, professors and authorities of the institution. The academic session was moderated by Dr. José Luis Briceno Ruiz, Researcher at UNAM, and was attended by the Argentine Ambassador to Mexico, Carlos Tomada, as well as Minister Rubén Ruiz Guerra, Director of CIALC. The lecture presented the historical and legal background of the Malvinas Question, as well as the main challenges and opportunities presented by the current geopolitical context.
On May 5, Filmus headed a lesson on the historical background, legal arguments and different current issues around the Malvinas Question in the framework of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid. The session, also attended by the Dean of the Faculty María Esther del Campo García and the Argentine Ambassador to Spain, Ricardo Alfonsín, was aimed at students of International Relations and the Master in Latin America and International Politics of that institution.
Along the same lines, on May 7 Filmus presented the main historical, legal and political aspects of the Malvinas Question to the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador. The academic session was attended by the Director of the Diplomatic Academy, the Chargé d'Affaires at the Argentine Embassy in Ecuador and gave place to a fruitful academic debate between the Ambassador and future diplomats about the main aspects of this colonial situation.
